PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Challenges
The crane was assessed to determine the possibility of operating with the maximum lifting load of 40 t at all outreaches.
Initially, the maximum outreach for SWL 40 t had been limited by the manufacturer to 25 meters. The engineering assessment was therefore performed to evaluate the crane structure and determine the possibility of increasing the operating outreach while maintaining the required structural strength and stability.

Engineering Assessment Result
The structural assessment included finite element analysis of the main crane structures, crane stability verification, wheel load calculations and strain gauge measurements. The engineering study was performed to evaluate the possibility of operating the crane with a 40 t lifting load beyond the original 25 m outreach limitation
