The Challenges

The rail clamp is a safety device designed to prevent a crane from moving along the rail under storm wind loads by gripping the gantry rail.

The project included verification of the static strength of the rail clamp structure, bolt connections and levers. In addition, fatigue analysis was performed.

The rail clamp is designed to prevent crane movement along the rail when subjected to storm wind loads. The structural assessment included verification of the static strength of the structure, bolt connections and levers, as well as fatigue analysis
