Structural analysis was performed to evaluate the feasibility of increasing the operational productivity of a portal boom crane. The assessment verified whether the crane could safely handle the maximum lifting load of 40 tonnes throughout the entire working outreach. The original manufacturer limited the crane to a 25-meter outreach for SWL 40 t, and the study evaluated the structural capability for extended operating conditions.
